Back in Britain: Whitechapel, London

Above is the Swiss Re headquarters at 30 St Mary Axe, popularly known as the Gherkin (and by various other priapic nicknames), designed by Norman Foster. Mr Foster also designed New York's Hearst building, where the Lady BIB spends many of her daylight hours.

The Whitechapel Foundry was where the original Liberty Bell was cast in 1752. We were surprised to learn that there's still uncertainty about how exactly the bell cracked.
