Cloudspotting

It's been a great few days for watching the skies, both in Park Slope (above) and Manhattan (below).
I picked up a copy of Gavin Pretor-Pinney's The Cloudspotter's Guide at Powerhouse Books
yesterday to try and make sense of it all.

Last night the bandshell in Prospect Park was the venue for an soul-lifting performance. Femi Kuti (left) and his band the Positive Force (above) were here as part of the free series of shows from Celebrate Brooklyn.

A very photogenic storm passed by Brooklyn tonight. What's going on in those structures?

A "uniquely entertaining and amusing marketplace in Coney Island"

“Thor Equities is invigorated by the pulse and vibrancy of major urban environments. We match this tenacity by pairing the right properties and the right investors to maximize results with solid planning and execution.” – Joseph J. Sitt, Chairman and CEO
On Monday we visited the "grand opening" of the Festival by the Sea, billed as a "uniquely entertaining and amusing marketplace in Coney Island." Goodbye, rides and go-kart track and batting cages! Hello, mobile phones and laminated photocopies! Elegant grace note: the bin liners flapping from the roof skeleton. Imagine an undersubscribed car-boot sale held on the surface of the moon. Viva Coney!
